Meet Dr. Sarah Koenig

Dr. Koenig is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in treating OCD, anxiety, and challenging behaviors of early childhood with evidence-based approaches.

Dr. Sarah Koenig is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with individuals across the lifespan—including children, adolescents, and adults—struggling with anxiety, OCD, and other related disorders. She also has expertise in working with young children with behavioral problems.

Dr. Koenig is committed to using evidence based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-based CBT, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She is a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)-certified therapist and trainer, and has specialized training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). When indicated, Dr. Koenig incorporates Trauma-Focused CBT and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills and techniques.

Dr. Koenig has experience treating children and their families across diverse mental health, medical, and educational settings. She is committed to collaborating and working as a team with families, other healthcare providers, and teachers to provide the best care to children and their families. Dr. Koenig’s past research investigating parental accommodation and interventions for parents of anxious children continues to inform her practice. Dr. Koenig greatly values her experience as a NYC public school teacher and continues to enjoy educating other professionals and her local community.

Dr. Koenig received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and her Ph.D. in School Psychology from University of Texas at Austin. She completed her clinical psychology internship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and her postdoctoral fellowship at Dell Children’s Medical Center/Texas Child Study Center in Austin. Prior to joining the Clear Mind Collective team, she worked as a licensed psychologist at Capital OCD and Anxiety Practice (COAP) in Austin.

Dr. Koenig is licensed in the state of Texas (PSY 38238) and is also authorized to practice telehealth through the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in active PSYPACT states (Mobility No 17968).
